چکیده
Objective: Two cases of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) effectively recanalized endovascularly by a combination of thromboaspiration using Cerulean catheter DD6 and stent retriever device are reported. Case Presentations: We endovascularly treated two cases of CVST that presented with progressive vomiting and disturbance of consciousness several days before the diagnosis of occlusion of the main venous sinus and venous congestion. The thrombus was removed by the combined use of an aspiration system made of Cerulean catheter DD6 connected to the Penumbra aspiration pump and a Solitaire FR thrombectomy device. In one case, balloon thrombofragmentation was performed with local thrombolytic therapy. In both cases, the occluded venous sinus was recanalized, venous congestion was resolved, and early initiation of anticoagulation therapy was possible. After the procedure, neurologic symptoms disappeared, and both patients were discharged 16 days after the procedure with a modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score of 0. Conclusion: In CVST, thromboaspiration by the concomitant use of a Cerulean catheter DD6 and a stent retriever is considered an effective therapeutic approach.

Spontaneous Intracranial Hypotension Plus Cerebral Venous Thrombosis: A Case Report Study
This is a case study of a 34-year-old woman who was admitted to hospital with a history of severe orthostatic headache. She was diagnosed as having spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH) by undetectable cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure at lumbar puncture, and with evidence of diffuse dural enhancement of the brain detected by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). However, the contrast-enhance...
متن کاملA Series of Cerebral Venous Sinus Thromboses Treated with Intra-Arterial tPA infused over Ten Hours with a 0.027-inch Catheter and Literature Review
Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) can have devastating results, with mortality reported in 44% of cases. No randomized trials exist in order to define what qualifies as failure of conservative therapy, and there is no specific intervention to date which is considered safe and effective. Case series suggest that thrombolysis infusion is safer than thrombectomy, but methods of administratio...

PURPOSE To evaluate the immediate and long-term outcomes of percutaneous manual aspiration thrombectomy with provisional stent placement in treating acute and subacute iliofemoral deep venous thrombosis (DVT). MATERIALS AND METHODS One hundred and thirty-nine consecutive patients (75 women; mean age, 51 years) with acute (n=110) or subacute (n=29) iliofemoral DVT underwent endovascular treatm...
متن کاملAntegrade rheolytic thrombectomy and thrombolysis for superior sagittal sinus thrombosis using burr hole access.
Superior sagittal sinus (SSS) thrombosis has high morbidity and mortality, and urgent recanalization is critical for severe cases. Standard endovascular techniques for thrombolysis and thrombectomy use retrograde venous access, an approach that may be unsuccessful in cases with extensive firm clot burden involving the dural sinuses distal to the SSS. An anterior open transcranial approach to th...
